Earlier today HBO announced a new Game of Thrones indie game for smartphones and PC that’s in development by Nerial, the award winning team behind the Reigns series.
Published by Devolver Digital, in Reigns: Game of Thrones, players are tasked as a ruling as a King or Queen while trying to stay alive as long as possible in the face of wars, assassination attempts, supernatural involvement and good old fashioned civil uprisings.
Like the other games in the Reigns series, it’s best described as a card game meets Tinder affair. Players are given questions and asked to make judgement based decisions by swiping left or right according to the course of action they wish to take.
The game is said to offer players the chance to rule as a number of characters from the show including Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Cersei Lannister, Tyrion Lannister among others. As huge fans of this particular series this tie in seems a well thought out offering and is most welcome. Likewise it’s sure to bring a huge number of new players due to the tie in alone that might not usually pick up an indie game of this type.
The game will be released in October for £2.99 ($3.99), on iPhones, Android and PC via Steam. Will you survive winter? We’ll see soon enough.
