No Man’s Sky Launches Weekly In-Game Community Events

Go hunting for new emotes, base parts and more.

Before the launch of the NEXT update for No Man’s Sky, the team behind the game announced it would receive a road map of community driven in game events. The first of these kicked off yesterday August 30th across PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

According to a blog post written on the Hello Games website, the first of these opportunities have begun across all formats with it open to players who have completed the first Space Anomaly mission.

The post goes on to say “Specialist Polo and Priest Entity Nada, blinking around the edge of reality in their anomalous spacecraft, are broadcasting a request for assistance”, says Hello Games, “Polo’s advanced boundary monitoring equipment has located a previously undetected iteration of the universe and they urgently need explorers to examine and explore this glitch in reality”.

This first community event is tied to a specific area of the galaxy “”where strange objects have begun spawning underground”. Players successfully finding the relevant items can return them to one of the Space Anomalies in return for Quicksilver, a new in-game currency that’s used to buy weekly rewards.

Such rewards include a new Mind Blown gesture, a selection of new decals and additional building decorations.  With over 50 items to unlock in the first season of these live events, Hello Games note participating players will gain access to new emotes, base parts and more.

Also released yesterday Hello Games dropped another patch with version 1.58 bringing numerous updates and changes to the game. For a full overview, here’s a link to the patch logs.
