One of the biggest surprises over the past 20 or so months since beginning Get Indie Gaming is the response to our monthly indie game trailer showcase videos. When we first rolled out the series, we thought people might think these type of videos to be somewhat lazy.
After all, the series is essentially a package of trailers we cut and splice into a collage once a month and count them down from 7 to 1. For the most part the reaction to these videos is overwhelmingly positive. The trailer video series also consistently drives a large amount of engagement via the YouTube comment section, the number of likes and posts on other Social Media sites.
Given the relative success of these videos. We’ve decided to pull together a new channel on YouTube that’s simply dedicated to showing off indie game trailers. Unlike the monthly collage series, on Get Indie Trailers, we will upload each trailer in full, with no additional editing or commentary over the top. We will continue our monthly trailer showcase over on our main channel and will also feature such videos on our Get Indie Gaming Website.
Since there are so many awesome looking indie games out there, we think an additional outlet for developers to showcase their trailer wears as it were, is something that’s missing, and something people might like to see.
Developers. If you would like your trailer featured on this new channel of ours, please contact us with the relevant link to your video and we can do the rest. We hope you enjoy this new aspect of Get Indie Gaming and we look forward to unearthing those little, and not so little indie game gems to show you all.
Many thanks for reading.
