Noodlecake Studios has made the Android version of Alto’s Odyssey on the Google Play Store. Unlike the original launch onto the iOS six months ago with a cost of $4.99, the Android port is free to play with optional in-app purchases.
Alto’s Odyssey is the sequel to Alto’s Adventure, a game that saw 36 million downloads on Android alone and features a beautifully designed sand boarding (?) game that takes the player on a trip through mouth wide open gorgeous desert scenery. On a mobile, this looks utterly stunning.
There’s also a “zen” mode, which takes away the user interface and notifications so you can enjoy the soundtrack and art style without interruptions. While we haven’t played this one on Android, iOS household here, if it’s anything like the original, and the in-app purchases side of things doesn’t bother you, it’s likely to be well worth having a look at.
